Coming soon to the Mac App Store · Free
Your whole Mac, one click from the menu bar.
StatBar keeps your CPU, memory and network in view at all times. One click and you get the details: disk, battery, cores, memory pressure.
Free, no account, no subscription.
Two tabs, everything that matters.
System for what’s happening inside your Mac, Devices for what’s attached to it. Up top, always your Mac’s name, uptime and load.
Processor
Load split between performance and efficiency cores, activity for every core, and the thermal state reported by macOS.
Memory
What your apps use, wired, compressed and cached memory, memory pressure and swap. Enough to understand why things slow down.
Disk
Free space on your startup disk and live read and write speeds.
Network
Download and upload rates, plus everything transferred since StatBar launched.
Battery
Charge, charging or discharging power, health, cycle count, capacity, adapter wattage and temperature.
At your own pace
Refresh every 0.5, 1, 2 or 5 seconds, right from the bottom of the panel.
Light, private, no compromises.
Many system monitors ask for a privileged helper and your admin password, or send data home. StatBar does the opposite.
Nothing leaves your Mac
No account, no server, no telemetry, no network requests. Network speed comes from interface counters, never from the content of your traffic.
No helper, no password
A sandboxed Mac App Store app. No privileged helper, no system extension, no admin password to hand over.
100% native
Written in Swift with Apple frameworks only, no third-party dependencies. Sampling runs in the background at low priority.
Free
StatBar will be free at launch on the Mac App Store. No subscription, no ads.

FAQ
When is StatBar coming out?
Soon, on the Mac App Store. This page will be updated on launch day.
How much does StatBar cost?
StatBar will be free at launch, with no subscription and no ads.
Which Macs does StatBar run on?
macOS 15.2 or later. On Apple silicon, StatBar separates performance and efficiency cores; on Intel Macs, load is shown across all cores.
Does any of my data leave my Mac?
No. StatBar has no account, no server and no telemetry, and makes no network requests. Every reading is collected and displayed locally. For the network, it reads macOS throughput counters and never looks at the content of your traffic.
Does it need an admin password or a helper tool?
No. StatBar is a sandboxed Mac App Store app: it installs no privileged helper or system extension and needs no administrator rights.
What do App, Wired, Compressed and Cached mean?
App: memory used by your applications. Wired: memory reserved by macOS that can’t be freed. Compressed: memory macOS has compressed to make room. Cached: files kept in memory for speed, which can be freed at any time.
StatBar counts App + Wired + Compressed as “used”, excluding cache.
What are memory pressure and swap?
Memory pressure tells you whether your Mac is running short of memory: Normal, Elevated or Critical. As it rises, macOS compresses more and writes part of memory to disk: that’s swap. High pressure and growing swap often explain a Mac that slows down.
Why no CPU temperature in degrees?
StatBar shows the thermal state reported by macOS (Cool, Warm, Hot, Throttling) rather than degrees: reading CPU sensors would require hardware access StatBar doesn’t use, so it can stay sandboxed. Battery temperature is shown when your Mac provides it.
Does StatBar replace Activity Monitor?
It complements it. StatBar shows your Mac’s overall state at a glance from the menu bar; to see which app uses what, Activity Monitor is still the right tool.
Will StatBar slow my Mac down?
Sampling runs in the background at low priority, and you choose the pace: every 0.5, 1, 2 or 5 seconds. The longer the interval, the lighter StatBar gets.
